Our Background

       Jason Smith, DNP, FNP-C is a nurse practitioner who recently completed a Doctoral program at Augusta University late last year. Jason grew up in Calhoun and is a well-respected medical provider with strong connections here in Gordon County. He has worked in healthcare since graduating high school and has continued to further his education to meet the ever-changing needs of healthcare. As a registered nurse (RN), Jason worked at Emory Healthcare, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Northside Hospital, and AdventHealth Gordon. During his time as a RN, he worked in various specialties including oncology, pediatrics, nursing management, health informatics, surgical recovery room, and the emergency department.

       In 2017, Jason graduated with his Master’s degree and began working as a Nurse Practitioner at Adventhealth Urgent Care. Shortly after, the pandemic struck which quickly began to change his views on healthcare and shift his ideologies. While he still had a strong passion for providing medical care to patients, he realized the more important and often preventative role that overall health and wellness has in his patients. Additionally, he began to resent the bureaucratic nature associated with large healthcare organizations which further encouraged him to open his own medical office. Jason is well known for his no nonsense, direct approach with both colleagues and patients as well as his ability to connect with and form a meaningful provider patient relationship.
